Company Overview

Moredun Scientific is a contract research organisation specialising in animal health and aquaculture product development and biosafety testing of biopharmaceuticals.

We support animal health and biopharmaceutical companies by testing their products and providing data to support development decisions, registration and commercialisation.

Established in 1988, Moredun Scientific is the commercial arm of the Moredun Foundation. Our profits are transferred to the Foundation, which uses the funds to support further research programmes at the Moredun Research Institute.

Our three main business units are:

Animal Health
Our services give clients access to our broad range of infectious disease models, expertise and extensive facilities to progress the development of their livestock vaccine and therapeutic products. We have completed over 500 studies and work with global animal health companies, biotech companies and academic organisations .

Aquaculture
Our Aquaculture business delivers contract research services to support the development of fish health products for the aquaculture sector. We work with pharmaceutical companies, feed companies and other organisations to conduct efficacy and safety studies in aquaculture species

Biosafety Testing
We deliver regulatory compliant testing of biopharmaceuticals and cell lines to ensure they are free from contamination with adventitious agents.

Our team of experts are committed to the on-time delivery of test results to meet regulatory requirements.
